SFISD VEX IQ Tournament

SFISD will be hosting its first VEX IQ tournament on January 30, 2021 at Santa Fe High School. This is a regional competition with up to 24 teams from Texas Region 3 that will qualify teams for the State Competition or World Competition. Santa Fe Junior High will have 4 teams competing in this tournament. This event will be closed to the public, however we will be livestreaming the event and providing a link to view the tournament. Health and safety protocols will be implemented for all participants. Teams will compete in Skills Challenges (Driver Skills and Programming Skills) as well as Teamwork Challenges. The 2020-2021 VEX IQ Challenge is Rise Above. In Driver Skills, one team is on the field attempting to acquire as many points as possible driving solo. In Programming Skills, one team is on the field and attempts to acquire as many points as possible through code they have developed to program the robot. The robot will run autonomously with no controller. The Teamwork Challenge is two teams working cooperatively to attain as many points together as possible. Skills Challenges will begin at 8am and run until 11am. Teamwork Challenges will then begin and run until lunch (12:00 - 12:45pm) and qualifying matches will resume until 3pm. We are very excited to offer this opportunity to the teams in our area.
