ESSER III Plan Approved
The American Rescue Plan (ARP) Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund (ESSER)III was established to help schools safely reopen and sustain safe operation of schools and address the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on students. Based on input from stakeholders and a comprehensive review of student data, Santa Fe ISD submitted their Proposed Plan in July to the Texas Education Agency (TEA).
On August 5, 2021, the plan was accepted to go forward from TEA. Click on the documents below to see the Approved ESSER III Use of Funds Plan (English and Spanish Versions)
Since the funds may be used in this school year as well as 2022-23 and 2023-24, the plan will be reviewed periodically and may be adjusted according to District data and needs. ** Please continue to monitor the ESSER III page for updates.
Media Release for Seamless Summer Option Free Meals in School Year 2021-2022
Santa Fe Independent School District announced its policy today that this school year, healthy meals will be offered every school day to all students at no cost. Typically, a student’s household must meet income eligibility requirements to qualify for free or reduced-price meals. However, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) issued guidance that allows schools to offer meals to all students at no cost for the 2021-2022 school year.
Starting on September 8, 2021 Santa Fe ISD will begin distributing letters to the households of the children in the district about these 2022-2023 eligibility benefits and actions households need to take to apply. Paper applications also are available at YUM! Nutrition Services located in the Cowan Education Center at 4133 Warpath Santa Fe, TX. 77510 or apply online at www.schoolcafe.com.
