• SFISD Public Relations

Strong links between the schools and the community enhance the learning opportunities available to both students and the general public. The Public Relations Office assists the district to improve programs and services of the school district by integrating the district with the community. The District is committed to a two-way communications process that is mutually beneficial to the district and community. Services provided by the public relations office include, but are not limited to, facilitating external and internal communications (newsletters, brochures, bulletins, letters and website), promoting positive media relations and coverage, conducting formal and informal research to determine public opinion and attitude, promoting the district’s strength/achievements and its solutions to problems, representing the district in various community organizations, developing collaborative initiatives between the schools and local business/industry, assisting with recognition programs for employees and students. Some examples of existing formal/school community partnerships include: Santa Fe Chamber of Commerce, Mainland Rotary, Santa Fe Education Foundation, Galveston Daily News, and Houston Chronicle. The Santa Fe ISD Calendar and all school activities are posted on the District website.

    The SFISD Public Relations Department

The primary objective of the SFISD Public Relations Department is to generate an understanding in the community of the district’s efforts to provide each student with the best possible education. This objective is achieved through the development of external/internal awareness of school and education-related issues and programs in SFISD. The department works in conjunction with the Technology Department for website, social media, and email communications to employees, students, and families. The department works with the Santa Fe Texas Education Foundation for business partnerships and communications with community members.
