Karen Vaughn
I went to Baylor University where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master of Science in Education. I was a teacher at La Marque High School then moved to Santa Fe High School. I have been in education for 30 years. I am certified in Technology Application, Social Studies, Journalism, Art, English, Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Driver's Education. I am now a teaching Commercial Photography, Printing and Imaging Technology (Journalism and Newspaper), and Advanced Printing and Imaging Technology (Yearbook I, II and III and Newspaper II).
I love teaching and preparing the students for their future. I expect the best of my students. Teaching is something I look forward to everyday as well as getting to know my students better.September Staff Members of the Month

Peter Kinser
This is my first year in education. I teach Health, Credit Recovery and I am a coach for the baseball team. I am a 2006 graduate of Texas City High School. Afterwards, I went to Galveston College and the University of Southern Arkansas where I played baseball as well. In 2010, I was drafted to play professional baseball for the Arizona Diamondbacks where an injury to my back ended my career. Then, I worked for the City of Texas City helping with youth sports and in May 2013 I graduated from the University of Houston-Clear Lake.
Over the past 35 years he has earned his Master’s degree in theatre education and management. He has taught theatre in public education to children from K-College. He has taught as a Guest Artist in New Orleans at the Contemporary Arts Center and the Arts Alliance Center at Clear Lake. He has also served as General Manager in New Orleans for the Southern Rep Theatre. He worked as the Director of Audience Services for the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts and Dacamera of Houston. He spent two years working with NASA’s ARES Education Department on a project called Imagine Mars. He is also the Artistic Director and Founder of FARPOINT theatre, recently producing an original production at the George R. Brown Convention Center for Comicpoolza. Currently Mr. Kinser is the director of Theatre Arts for Santa Fe High School and proudly serves at Fine Arts Department Chair, UIL One Act Play Adjudicator, Auditorium Manager and Theatre Santa Fe Thespian Troup Manager.
