    BOARD HIGHLIGHTS

     

    RECOGNITIONS

     

    The Board recognizes students and staff each month at the regularly scheduled board meeting.  The following were recognized at the December meeting. 

     

    RJW Elementary - Tribe Respectful Students – PK/PPCD – Ismael Beltran, Maddox Bradley, Case Everett, Aiden Hanssard, Samuel Knape, Keven

    Defense: Honorable Mention – DB #10 Vincent Garcia – SR., LB #30 Aidan Blair – JR, DE #17 Tommy Gentry – JR, DT #71 Kyler Gentry – JR.

     

    Varsity Volleyball players named All County by the Galveston Sports Writers Association – Keegan Nelms, Cayla Hockenbury, Madison Ogden and Jordan Jewell

     

    HS Band Students who competed in the UIL Region Band tryouts and will be advancing to 5A area auditions at Lamar University on January 10, 2015 are:

    Region Band: Matthew Warren; District Band: Lizvette Rivera.  Others advancing are: Darion Farina, Kate Kaiser, Adrian Boehnke, Peter Luong, Chelsea La Frage, Gabe Degner, Erica Werner, Alex Stenzel and John Keller.  They are under the direction of Matthew Raines and Patrick O’Donnell.

     

    Texas Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services (DARS) representatives, Jorge Anteliz, Vera Gist and Nanshill Wilson presented a plaque recognizing Santa Fe ISD as 2014 Business of the Year for its outstanding efforts in employing people who are blind or visually impaired.

    Santa Fe Mayor Ralph Stenzel presented a proclamation to the Board on behalf of the city council and the citizens of Santa Fe
    declaring the month of January 2015 as School Board Appreciation Month in Santa Fe.
