    BOARD HIGHLIGHTS

     

    RECOGNITIONS

     

    H.S. recognized their CTE students who received a Dell Certification. Mario Arrendondo Loredo, Nathan Andrews, Alec Neal, Haley Ritter, Alan Jones, Aaron Kane and Jayson Bouras. Their teacher is Thomas Bennett and representatives from Dell who are here to present their certifications are Snow White and Nimi Kemuel.

    All campuses helped raise $5,621.00 for the Big Love Cancer Cares-Coins for Cancer Fundraiser. Santa Fe ISD was the 1st place winner in the fundraiser for the Houston-Galveston area. The campuses raised almost $518.00 more than last year’s totals. Campus sponsors are: Kelly Grenier, Katy Faulkner, Ana Balle, Becky Sullivan, Robin Schoen, Jennifer Jones, Taylor Cardenas and Danielle Hildebrand. Sponsor and District Coordinator is Marlo Bear.

    INFORMATION ITEMS

    Ms. Hanssard updated the Board on the 1st nine weeks staff attendance. Barnett had the highest at 98%. She also updated the Board on the retention program.

    Mr. Atkins updated the Board on current maintenance and building projects throughout the District.

    Mr. Jason Bailey with Perdue, Brandon, Fielder, Collins and Mott, LLP, provided the Board with a 2018 delinquent tax collection update.

    Approved the financial audit for fiscal year ending June 30, 2019 and have the annual financial statement submitted for publication.
    Approved the 2019 SFISD Graduate Profile Committee's creation of the District Profile of a Graduate.
    Approved the 2019-2020 SFISD Improvement Plan and all SFISD Campus Improvement Plans.
    Approved the services for students through the Galveston-Brazoria Cooperative for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

    Approved Policy Update 114.

    Approved the purchase of the Aruba switching equipment from Layer 3.

    Approved the second of a 3-year Microsoft licensing agreement for the 2019-2020 school year.

    Approved Resolution #2019 with 143 votes to be awarded to Scott Brast for the Galveston Central Appraisal Distict's Board of Directors.
